For a long time there here were no restaurants in the green and quiet Tuindorp district. But now the neighborhood is happy with the arrival of Mevrouw Peer (mrs. Pear). This lovely place opened in 2021 in the iconic old signal box, located directly on the train track at Eykmanlaan. From the terrace the children can enter the De Pan playground, a large enclosed area where they can play for many hours. Møs Coffee Bar is in a different category than the previous places. There is no large playground or terrace where kids can roam around. But I still want to mention this trendy coffee bar. The atmosphere at Møs is very relaxed and child-friendly. They serve good coffee, healthy breakfasts and lunch, fresh juices and pastries. There is a small children’s corner. 5. Molencafé Molen de Ster
Molencafé is Lombok’s best kept secret, located next to the mill: Molen de Ster. Next to the sunny terrace there is a nice fenced playground. There are animals living on the property that you can cuddle. They serve organic and fair trade products. The mill itself is worth a visit. During the holidays there are lots of kids activities. 6. Landhuis in de Stad
Another great location where your children can stroll around outside: Landhuis in de Stad! In Park Oog in Al, located near the water, they have plenty of space to play outside. Fort aan de Klop is a great place for young and old. Located on the fortress island in Overvecht, this gem is completely hidden in the green. The Noordertuin adds great value to this part of Utrecht. The cozy garden café is located in the Steck garden center and here children can have a great time. There is a (huge) large play area inside and plenty of space outside with even a real flower picking garden (Glitter Gladiolus). In autumn they have an amazing corn maze to discover. I’ll end this list on a small note. Namely with The Rocking Chair. In Tuinwijk, located just outside the city center. This was a place I went to a lot when my children were a little smaller. It has a nice play corner at the back of the store, where they can go about their business while you drink a good coffee. The atmosphere feels like a small, family living room, where you can quickly pop in, alone, with friends or with your children. The service is friendly and the products are good.
